Gheorghe Guşet (born 28 May 1968 in Zalău, Sălaj) is a Romanian shot putter.
As of September 2006 he is ranked 13th by the IAAF [1]. Guset is noted for being competitive at such an advanced age (38), since most shot putters peak in their late 20s or early 30s.
His personal best throw is 21.04 metres, achieved in February 2006 in Bucharest. [2]. He has an outdoor personal best of 20.84 metres, achieved in August 1999 in Poiana Braşov.
Due to health problems (chronic kidney disease) he was forced to retire from competitions in 2008. On 25 October 2008, a kidney transplantation was carried out successfully.
